the fancy hotel sleepover

the sleepover

A wonderful time was had by all. We swam, we ate candy,

cobblestone feet

we did handstands and cartwheels and played truth or dare.

The things that struck me over and over this weekend was what an amazing time it was, when i was nine. How lucky i feel to witness it again through my wonderful daughter and her super cute friends. They are old enough to be (somewhat) independent, yet still young enough that they are free and comfortable in their bodies and their friendships. All the peer group clique stuff hasn't happened yet, they haven't gone through puberty - they are just happy to be together and have fun.

I had a wonderful time and i'm sad we won't be doing it all the time.

those are beautiful pictures. what's with the matching pj's? goodie bag type gifts for the trip?

yup, matching pj's and a chocolate bar made up the goodie bags.

none for me though.

Sounds awesome. I love the feet pic.

gosh, I am quite envious -
it sound positively Little Women-ish.

jess! do you have a tattoo on your tummy?

why yes! i do have a tattoo on my tummy.

so cute! what is it?

sooo happy pictures!

Looks pretty cool. But I will admit to having tried a handstand for my daughter and pulling every muscle in my thigh and lower back.

Yep, that's me. The hip, cool, unfit redneck mommy.

you are STRONG! great post.

You're the best mom ever Jess. Nice work.

They look cute. I'm sure they had a blast and think you are the greatest.

So cute! They look positively happy and adorable. Do you think I could get away with this with 12 year-old-boys in the fall?

That feet pic is killer! I don't even remember being nine or what it was like. I must have had my head up my butt most of my life because I don't remember a lot.

that is so cool..I can't wait until my daughter is a little older and has all her cute little friends! She is getting to a good age now...3, lol....trying at times, but fun none the less!

I love the picture with the feet all in a row. It's just so perfect looking. I can't explain the feeling I get when I see it!
