done like dinner

Well. That's that. The school year is not officially over until the 23rd, but tonight i completed the last major task of my presidency this year. I am now free as a bird. Until! Summer vacation next week and the calls of "I'm bored. What are we doing today!"

Friday is the third installment of a month of birthdays with toby's 7th. What do you buy for a 7 year old boy who wants "lots of toys?"

You go someplace cheap and buy a lot of toys.

As William Wallace once said: "FREEDOM!"

As for Toby ... I think blackbird is onto something.

Good luck with that. My eight year old said the same thing on his birthday.

I bought him a kick ass set of lego. (Quantity in pieces.)

He plays with them and I curse and swear when I step on one, vacuum one or the puppy decides to chew on one...

I've been thinking about this for 3 minutes now, but I gotta go with Blackbird's advice.

You buy season passes to the Zoo or other kid friendly place in your area - so that you can address the bored part along with the birthday present being special!

(other siblings if older have to earn their pass through chores - worked wonderful at my house - many moons ago!)

Uh...I'm trying to remember back that far. I think mine were really into Playmobile sets and Legos. You get one big set and then wrap up a bunch of smaller/less expensive accessories to go with it.

I'm going with the legos. Or maybe crafy supplies! Also, books (I guess they aren't toys). I'm so helpful.

Hot Wheels! Lego! My brothers and I spent days; nay, YEARS, entranced with our Hot Wheels and Legos. And we played quietly together with them, so it's a family bonus.
