that's the spirit

The lights are up. The decorations are up. The Starbucks holiday cd's are playing. The kids are being threatened several times a day with "do you remember about santa? Remember what he says about you better not pout? You do? Good! Stop whining, whining is pouting by proxy!"

Ah, empty threats. Gotta love em, know what i mean jelly bean?

In my spirit of hating the over-consumtion i have adopted pets for all my nieces: polar bears and turtles all around!

Shane and i have asked for donations to anaphylaxis canada on behalf of our little Eliza and apraxia canada on behalf of our little Toby.

Really we could use some help purchasing the 6 or so epipens we buy every year and the $8000 we spend on speech therapy, but that seemed - i dunno - asking for something we wish we had help with already.

I was considering leaving a note for the boys that says santa will come back with a few more things in january if they would just clean their room and give their poor overworked mother a break!

You have socialized medicine, so WHY does your family have to pay for epipens?? Aren't they really costly? And necessary, too.

i was going to ask why you pay for epipens too? want me to fake an allergy so mark's insurance will buy us a couple? thats sucks.

shane is self-employed, so we don't have extended medical.

giant balloons to anybody who sends me an epipen. or something else awkward.

You mean the self-employed don't get the same benefits there? Hmmm, something to think about.

Well, everybody gets basic medical - but you still pay - we pay $108 permonth for all of us. It covers all your basic medical needs, including emergency care.

Most employers offer extended medical as part of a benefits package. Sometimes the employer pays, sometimes the employee. This coverage varies depending on the plan, but usually covers basic dental, prescriptions, some eye care, some elective surgeries etc.

We don't have that. That is why we pay for epipens and all our other prescriptions. Epipens are $140.
