christmas conundrum

45956189_4817c241e1_m.jpg

I need help. I have no idea what to get Parker, who just turned two, for christmas? I have at least 300 hot wheels cars in my house, my yard, my car, my soul. Plus, the trucks - we have lots of trucks. Please help me women (and 2 men) of the internet.

Toby, on the other hand, is very specific:

Toby's Wish List

* rock tumbler
* dirt bike (as if)
* 100 standing army men (different colours)
* 100 tanks and army cars
* army fort
* star wars stuff
* 100 balls of wool

100 balls of wool? I say get that for Parker!

I've forgotten what 2 year old boys like. Besides Hotwheels. Ummm Matchbox?

My all time hit 2 yo gifts were real combination locks and tool boxes.

Also those mega blocks are always good. A doll? Cape? ROCKS! Rocks are good.

When my baby boy was 2 he was into Thomas so we bought him one of those table set-ups with the wooden Thomas-fitting tracks.

The bigger-size Lego? The Fisher Price farm? The big Tonkas that they end up riding in the back yard? A trike?

Maybe take him to Toys-R-Us and let him run wild for a bit? It might be torturous to drag him away but you'll get some hints. My baby is 4 and sometimes it works if I let my bigger kids talk to him about what he wants. (let us know what works!)

I love the toolbox idea! The thing of it is, Parker is baby number 4. I pretty much have, at some point, owned all the usual stuff. He loves Thomas and Bob the Builder so maybe i'll focus on that. We have the train table, the track, the trains... But, i suppose we can always use more.

Now you have me racking my brain for the perfect idea and I have nothing. I don't even know what to get for my own 2.5 year old!

So I'm no help. Good luck, lol.

100 Balls of wool? I have to know more.

One thing I know that was vastly popular among the kids in my mommy group last year (we all had Oct.'02 babies) were those interactive ball-popping machines. There are lots of different ones.

Oh, and all the "How Does A Dinosaur..." books were universal hits as well. My daughter had "How Does A Dinosaur Say Goodnight?" memorized.

My little boys (one of whom is 21 months old) are really into the Duplo/Lego Thomas and Bob play sets. The tracks are really easy to put together, and the trains (Thomas, James, Percy and Toby are what's available) are a great size for toddlers once assembled. Big, chunky, and easy to manuever around the tracks. The Bob vehicles are great too - but a little more difficult to put together. I've noticed that gifts are tough for two year olds! All the cool stuff is labeled 3 yrs+ . ALL of it! Big 'ol wooden blocks are great if your little guy is into building....I know you must have those kicking around. Good luck! Don't worry - no matter what you get him, he'll be most interested in what his big brother and sisters get!
